We believe in a future in which the web is a preferred environment for numerical computation. To help realize this future, we've built stdlib. stdlib is a standard library, with an emphasis on numerical and scientific computation, written in JavaScript (and C) for execution in browsers and in Node.js.
The library is fully decomposable, being architected in such a way that you can swap out and mix and match APIs and functionality to cater to your exact preferences and use cases.
When you use stdlib, you can be absolutely certain that you are using the most thorough, rigorous, well-written, studied, documented, tested, measured, and high-quality code out there.
To join us in bringing numerical computing to the web, get started by checking us out on GitHub, and please consider financially supporting stdlib. We greatly appreciate your continued support!
Return a property descriptor for an object's inherited property.
1npm install @stdlib/utils-inherited-property-descriptor
1var inheritedPropertyDescriptor = require( '@stdlib/utils-inherited-property-descriptor' );
Returns a property descriptor for an object's inherited property.
1function Foo() { 2 return this; 3} 4 5Foo.prototype.bar = 'foo'; 6 7var obj = new Foo(); 8 9var desc = inheritedPropertyDescriptor( obj, 'bar' ); 10// returns {'configurable':true,'enumerable':true,'writable':true,'value':'foo'}
By default, the function walks an object's entire prototype chain. To limit the inheritance level, provide a level
argument.
1var inherit = require( '@stdlib/utils-inherit' ); 2 3function Bar() { 4 return this; 5} 6 7Bar.prototype.beep = 'boop'; 8 9function Foo() { 10 Bar.call( this ); 11 return this; 12} 13 14inherit( Foo, Bar ); 15 16var f = new Foo(); 17var desc = inheritedPropertyDescriptor( f, 'beep', 1 ); 18// returns null
This function differs from the built-in Object.getOwnPropertyDescriptor()
as follows:
null
or undefined
, the function returns null
, rather than throwing an error.null
, rather than undefined
.1var defineProperty = require( '@stdlib/utils-define-property' ); 2var inheritedPropertyDescriptor = require( '@stdlib/utils-inherited-property-descriptor' ); 3 4function Foo() { 5 this.beep = 'boop'; 6 this.a = { 7 'b': 'c' 8 }; 9 defineProperty( this, 'baz', { 10 'value': 'qux', 11 'configurable': true, 12 'writable': true, 13 'enumerable': false 14 }); 15 return this; 16} 17 18Foo.prototype.foo = [ 'bar' ]; 19 20var obj = new Foo(); 21var desc = inheritedPropertyDescriptor( obj, 'foo' ); 22 23console.log( desc ); 24// => {'configurable':true,'enumerable':true,'writable':true,'value':['bar']}
@stdlib/utils-property-descriptor
: return a property descriptor for an object's own property.@stdlib/utils-property-descriptor-in
: return a property descriptor for an object's own or inherited property.@stdlib/utils-inherited-keys
: return an array of an object's inherited enumerable property names.@stdlib/utils-inherited-property-descriptors
: return an object's inherited property descriptors.@stdlib/utils-inherited-property-names
: return an array of an object's inherited enumerable and non-enumerable property names.@stdlib/utils-inherited-property-symbols
: return an array of an object's inherited symbol properties.This package is part of stdlib, a standard library for JavaScript and Node.js, with an emphasis on numerical and scientific computing. The library provides a collection of robust, high performance libraries for mathematics, statistics, streams, utilities, and more.
